Design Case Study - The Gravity-Fed Pot Dispenser
MRH are the UK's largest independent petrol station owner & operator with over 450 company owned sites most of which are branded ESSO, BP and TORQ.
MRH came to AWP for a solution to promote branded Porridge Oat pots in their petrol forecourt stores containing a breakfast bar. The aperture space available was very tight and the unit needed to hold 18 units at a time.
|After surveying their Breakfast Bar store layout we designed a prototype gravity-fed dispenser that could be easily bolted to the inner fascia. The dispenser unit was finished in coloured powder-coat to match the overall branded display.|
The width of side runners was designed slightly wider than the oat-pot's diameter to allow a smooth feed with minimal friction. The bottom support bar allowed for better nesting.
|The dispenser unit has now been rolled out to all relevant forecourt stores with positive results.|
The success has shown that this feature can lend itself to other types of cylindrical packaged products where space is at a premium and allows the feature to be adapted & modified to small, medium or large displays depending on the number of units being merchandised.
