Design Case Study - The Half Moon Dump Bin
B&M was formed in 1978 and is now one of the leading variety retailers in the UK.From its first store in Blackpool, Lancashire, B&M has grown to over 500 stores and employs over 22,500 staff. B&M believe in selling top branded products at sensational prices and attract over 3 million happy customers through our doors a week.B&M has stores throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
B&M came to AWP to help them source a curved dump bin to help with their impulse-purchase strategy throughout their stores. The bin had to be small enough to be unobtrusive in the aisles but large enough to hold a reasonable amount of product. In addition the bin had to be portable for fast store placement, robust and have an adjustable shelf for flexible product merchandising.
|Our Design Team came up with an initial concept which was drawn up on our CAD system and presented to the client for review.|
A sample was fabricated from the drawings in our tool room; this sample was then submitted to our customer for their feedback. After the fine-tuning process, the powder-coated prototype was signed-off by the customer and put into full production.
|Our customer is very happy with the product and has since ordered over 10,000 units.|
